The Trusts Arena, Auckland | 27th November - 1st December 2019

The Trusts are delighted their Million Dollar Mission campaign has been recognised as a finalist by the judges in this year’s TVNZ New Zealand Marketing Awards. “Whatever the outcome on the night we can proudly say we caught the judges attention for an innovative, creative and engaging way to bring The Trusts ‘Giving Back’ to life”, says CEO, Simon Wickham. “It is a first of its kind in New Zealand.”

The Trusts Million Dollar Mission achieved a staggering 200,000 votes, tens of thousands of likes and shares in social media and gave $1 million dollars to 30 deserving organisations in West Auckland. All this was accomplished in just 29 days.

The Trusts CEO Simon Wickham paid tribute to Angela Hurst, Marketing Manager at The Trusts, and the marketing team who created the Million Dollar Mission concept. “This has also been a team result and “team” covers all staff of The Trusts, all suppliers and business partners, and the community who support our retail stores and hospitality venues. They have all helped put us in a position to raise a million dollars to “give back” to the community,” Wickham said.

Million Dollar Mission was so successful that The Trusts have already launched Million Dollar Mission 2 to start later this year. Applications open 2 October.

There are more than 60 finalists in a range of different categories with the Million Dollar Mission selected for the Sector Award category which is described as recognising the best in-breed marketing within specific industries.

The Trusts are in esteemed company with many leading New Zealand companies as fellow finalists. The full list and further information can be found here.

The Award winners will be announced at a ceremony at the Langham Hotel on 14 September.

The Trusts is a business owned and operated by West Auckland. We exist to sell alcohol responsibly, and to do so in a way approved of by the community who owns us. Instead of profits being paid to private owners or shareholders, we return surplus profits back into the community or reinvest into the business.  They assist all kinds of people, local clubs and associations in the community by giving grants, donations, sponsorships, rebates, household items and more recently, the Million Dollar Mission initiative.
